Abstract:
Zebrafish is one of the most widely used laboratory animals, and scientific and standardized husbandry directly impacts the reliability and reproducibility of research results. However, a comprehensive system for zebrafish husbandry has yet to be established, and how to raise zebrafish in a standardized manner remains a significant challenge for researchers in this field. Here, we systematically review the husbandry of zebrafish from larvae to adult periods, including the classification aligned with developmental progress, aquatic parameters, diet and feeding management, water velocity and stocking density, as well as personnel and records management. It provides theoretical support and practical guidance for standardizing zebrafish husbandry operations and improving animal quality.
