Abstract:
Database plays an important role in laboratory animal science by assisting researchers in daily work through the storing and managing vast amounts of data, including genetic information, generational tracking, the status of live animals, and experimental procedures. As a key model organism, zebrafish has become one of the most widely used laboratory animals in recent years. With the expansion of research fields, the demand for animal data management has also been growing steadily. This study independently designed and developed a database tailored to the routine operation of zebrafish laboratories-the China Zebrafish Data System. It employs a modular approach to manage data on genetic information, kinship, life status, stock numbers, and housing locations. The system supports customization via SaaS configurations to accommodate management functions across laboratories of varying scales, thereby providing support for zebrafish laboratory animal management in relevant scientific fields.
