Abstract:
Chrysochromulina parva Lackey (1939), which had not previously been recorded in China, is found from Lake Donghu, Wuhan from winter to spring. It occurred at high density of 8357.6 cells/ml on February 5, 1991 and 8737.0 cells/ml on January 15, 1992 at water temperatute 6-8℃ in sample station I, Lake Donghu. The nigher population density lasts about one month. The biomass of C. parva is different among three different trophic status sample stations, but the general trend of seasonal fluctuation is sindiar C. parve seems to prefer eutrophic waters.
