EFFECT OF FICUS CARICA POLYSACCHARIDES ON NON-SPECIFIC IMMUNE RESPONSE IN CRUCAIN CARP

  • The effect of Ficus carica polysaccharide on the ability of non-specific immune function in Crucain carp wasinvestigated. The tested Crucain carp were divided into five groups (A0, A1, A2,A3 and A4), and group A0 was the controlgroup fed with the basic diets. Fish in group A1, A2, A3 and A4 were fed with the diets containing 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.4%and 0.8% Ficus carica polysaccharide respectively. The influence of Ficus carica polysaccharide was determined byexamining the indexes including the content of serum total protein and complement C3, lysozyme activity, serum superoxidedismutase activity and phagocytic activity of leukocytes in 0d, 7d, 14d, 21d, 28d and 35d respectively. Theresults showed that the content of serum total protein and complement C3, lysozyme activity, serum superoxide dismutaseactivity and phagocytic activity of leukocytes in group A2 were higher than the control group (P3, blood serum superoxide dismutase activity and phagocytic activity of leukocytesin group A3 were very significantly higher than the control group (P2 and A3, and alsono significant difference among group A0, A1 and A4 (P>0.05).
