THE NEWLY RECORD OF COLONIAL ALGAE IN VOLVOCALES FROM CHINA

From March to July in 2015, water samples were collected in many sites of Hubei province. By the detailed light microscopic observation, we observed 3 family, 5 genus and 8 species colonial algae in Volvocales. Among them, Tetrabaenaceae Nozaki et Itoh is the newly record family, Tetrabaena (Dujardin) Fromentel and Volvulina Playfair are the newly record genus, Tetrabaena socialis (Dujardin) Nozaki et Itoh, Pandorina colemaniae Nozaki, Volvulina compacta Nozaki, Eudorina cylindrical Korshikov and Eudorina unicocca Smith are the newly record species in China. The results of molecular phylogenetic analysis based on 3 molecular markers were coincident with our morphological identification of the unialgal isolates, and the monophyletic family of Tetrabaenaceae, Goniaceae and Volvocaceae supported the taxonomic system proposed by Nozaki.
