THE EFFECT OF POST-DEAD DURATION OF BROODFISH ON ARTIFICIAL FERTILIZATION RATE OF NEOSALANS PSEUDOTAIHUENSIS

  • A series of experiments to study the effect of post-dead duration of the broodfish of N.pseudotaihuensis on fertility were carried out from February to May 1996 in Xujiahe Reservoir. The fertility was completely lost after 240 minutes of the dead of broodfish at the temperature of 10℃ .The post-dead duration of males effected fertility more greatly than that of females, and there was a significant interaction between them.Sperm and eggs could be prolonged the viability after short-term conservation at low temperature (0℃) .Artificial insemination of N.pseudotaihu-ensis should be conducted within 105 minutes after the dead of broodfish at the temperature of lower than 15℃ .
