THE EFFECT OF VITAMINE B6 ON THE LIPID METABOLISM OF GRASS CARP (CTENOPHARYNGODON IDELLA)

The effect of vitamine B6 on the lipid metabolism of the grass carp was studied in a growth experiment. Changes in the contents of biochmical components in the blood serum of the grass carp were measured using a clinical analyser(Beckman, mode 42). Distributions of 35S-methionine in various tissues of the grass carp were traced. The results showed that supplementation of vitamine B6 in the diets decreased the levels of triglycerides, aIbumin and glucose, and increased the levels of cholesterol in the high density lipoprotein and α-amylase activity in the serum. Vitamin B6 supplementation enchaned the utilization of methionine. It was concluded that the formulated diets supplemned with vitamin B6 improved lipid metabolism and prevent the occurrence of lipomatosis and fatty liver in the grass carp.
