MICRO AND ULTRA-STRUCTURE OF PERIPHERAL BLOOD IN TORTOISE(CHINEMYS REEVESII GRAY)

  • The peripheral blood cells of the chinemys reevesii are morphologically described. The results showed that the peripheral blood has the following cell types: erythrocyte, monocyte, lymphocyte, thrompocyte, eosinophil, basophil and neutrophil. Electron micrographs revealed that the erythrocyte has round nuclear and no organoid. Monocyte is characterized by microscopic nuclear heterochromatin. Lymphocyte is characteriaed by an increase of nucleus/plasm ratio. Thrompocyte has finger point protrusions on the surface of the cell and no organoid. Only a kind of small round and dense granules are scattered in the cytoplasm of the eosinophil. There are three kind of granule around the mucleus of basophil and two kinds of granule in neutrophil.
