COMPARISON BETWEEN ARTIFICIALLY INDUCED CYPRINUS CARPIO GYNOGENETIC OFFSPRING AND THEIR PARENTS WITH REFERENCE TO KARYOTYPE AND ENZYMIC HISTOCHEMISTRY

  • Artificially induced gynogenetic reproduction is able to obtain pure line With in a short period, and is advantageous to the utilization of hybrid vigour and to the rese arch on biochemistry and genetice.Gynoecy offspring of Cyprinus Carpio rubrofuscus red variety has been obtained by induced gynogenesis using inactive sperm of C. carpio yuankiang Wu et al. We com pared the gynoecy offspring to their parents in The respects of karyotype and several enzyme. The comparison shows that the karyotype of gynogenetic offspring is identi cae with maternal C. carpio rubrofuscus red variety, but there are some differences with paternal C. carpio yuankiang. The comparison of enzymology histochemistry shows the following: C. carpio yuankiang is dark grey in colour on account of the existing of tyro sinase in the muscle. The tyrosiruase can oxygenate tyrosine and produce melanin. On the other hand, there is no tyrosinase in muscle of C. carpio rubrofuscus red variety, and no melanin is produced, so that the C. carpio rubrofuscus red variety is tangerine in colour. The body colour of gynogenetic offspring is the same as their maternal fish. The distribution and content of lactic dehyrogenase isozymes (LDH) and nonspecific fatty enzyme in gynogenetic offspring is the same as maternal as well.
