From May to June 1999, the embryonic development of Leptobotia elongata was observed with artificial fertilized eggs.The egg membrane is non-adhesive and expands after absorption of water, and its diameter ranges from 3.67 to 4.00mm, averaging 3.79mm.The eggs drift in flowing water.The process of embryonic development can be divided into 26 stages.Newly hatched larvae were 5.0 mm in total length and non-pigmented.
