QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS ON THE MAIN SUMERGED COMMU-NITIES IN HONGHU LAKE. I. POTAMOGETON MAACKANUS COMMUNITY

  • Potamogeton maackianus Community was a main submerged communitytype which covered the largest area in Honghu Lake. Based on the survey during1992-1993 at two different stands, this paper analyzed quantitatively the communitystructue. The species compositions were simple, and the quantitative growth typespectra could specify the difference of the two stands. All the composition speciesdistributed evenly. The biomass distribution in water column of Potamogeton maackianus mainly determined the vertical structure of the community. Associationanalyses indicated that all the species distributed independently, but the correlationanalyses revealed that at some seasons, the distribution of some species pairesoverlapped to certain.
