APOPTOSIS OF THE CELL LINE FROM GRASS CARP (CIK) INDUCED BY FISH REOVIRUS

In this study, the auther investigated the apoptosis induced by FRV in cultured CIK cells. The results showed that CIK cells infected with FRV appeared cytopathic effect (CPE) and plaques under optical microscope and the fragement of these cell nuclei were found. At the sometime the enlarged gap cell nuclear surroundings were found, and blebbing from surface of cells and apoptotic bodies were observed in these cells under electron microscope. In addition, agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA extracted from infected CIK cells revealed typical 180-200bp integer-fold “ladder” bands, and Sub-G1 peak in infected cells could be detected by flow cytometric method. These results indicated that FRV could induce apoptosis in CIK cells.
