  • This paper reports the thermophilic bacilli and their characteristics in the hot springs of Lincang region, Yunnan. Bacillus stearothermophilus and B. thermosubtilis sp. nov. were isolated from the hot springs. These strains possess the ability to grow on the autotrophic media, Thermus, an extremely thermophilic bacterium was not isolated from these hot springs.
